I was just wondering how to breed the fish and what I should do and how to tell the genders

German blues will lay eggs in the gravel or on a flat piece of slate or stone laid down. To sex them is real easy just google some images of make and female. The female usually has a pinkish spot on their belly. They may or may no be good parents with the first batch of eggs.

What can I do to make them want to breed

Buy more and wait for them to pair off. Just because you have a male and female doesn't mean they will pair up and mate.
