Breeding/sexing angelfish

Hello! I’m at a total loss as to what these angelfish are. Male and female or single sex. I’ve had them together for 11 months and they are BFF. Their tubes have come out a bit more and I would love some help sexing them! Thank you so much! PS I know the black looks torn up—it had its entire tail bitten off as a very young fish and it’s never been as full as would be.

I agree the orange one (Koi or Goldmarble) looks like it could be female. Very hard to tell until they spawn. If they are the only Angels in the tank and 11 months old without spawning activity, then they are probably both the same sex.

I have 2 females in a tank with no males, they both still regularly lay unfertilized eggs and then guard them like a mating pair, lol. They take turns spawning, then after a couple of days they both have an omelet

Your right tho, it's really hard to tell in angels. Most fish in reality, until either they are mature or spawn

Female/female pairs of Angelfish are not that uncommon, especially if there are no males around. Sometimes even when there are males around. If and when they drop their breeding tubes it will be easier to tell what they are.

I agree with two females.
Males tend to grow a slight hump on the head.

What size tank do you need for these fish? And are they compatible with mollys?
