Can a female black molly and a male golden molly mate and breed?

Yes. I have seen it happen in my tank and can't wait to see what the fry will look like. Both of mine were Lyretails and should make some great variations.

My male golden molly is chasing and mating with everyone, including platy, panda cory, guppy, even blue ram. He is really crazy and I am going to find him a female molly, probably a black one.

Crazy little sucker. Is it a Sunglow or a Lyretail? Mine was and he was more of a terror than anything.

Strangely two golden mollies chase each other and all other fish wildly except black molly females. I bought two black molly females and one female delivered 14 fry in a week. The fry grow very quickly and almost double their size in about 9-10 days. I have lots of algaes for them to nip on and also feed them Hikari Fancy Guppy Food twice a day. For the first several days, I feed them First Bite.
