Easiest Fish to Spawn

Along with zebra danios, what other fish spawn easily?

Do you want non livebearers? Platies, Mollies, Guppies, Swordtails, and Endlers are probably the easiest. They are not egg layers though.

Cichlids, depending on the type can be pretty easy.

I agree with theotheragentm. you start with 5 or 6 and will end-up with over 50 within a few month.... or week.

Livebearer's are the easiest by far, depending on tank size they can get out of hand very easily.

Don't put the babies in their own tank or nursery. Let some of them get eaten by adults. Even if it is your first batch, I would not do this, although the instinct is to want to save them. There will be plenty more. Even with adult livebearers, they will not eat all the babies unless you have significantly larger fish, but then you run the risk of adults being eaten. Giving them away to the LFS is your best bet if they will take them.

The dwarf cichlids Apistogramma cactuoides and Kribensis are very easy to get to spawn.

Along with livebearer's and cichlids, I have found it VERY easy to breed tiger barbs. Just stick a male and female in thier own tank and they will begin breeding in a matter of minutes.

FWIW, raising fry from eggs is much more difficult then both the cichlid's and livebearer's.
