I have 7 fry - 3 guppies and 4 balloon mollys. They are roughly between 2 and 3 months old. They seem to be thriving which is great, but I still think they don't eat enough. Whenever I feed, the adults get it first. The guppies are the older fry and they go up top to eat with the adults, but the balloon fry are still shy and hide or stay on the bottom. I also throw sinking food, which they get from time to time, but the adults get at it quickly too. So much so that one of my gold dusk mollys has a bulging belly, and I just got him 3 weeks ago.
I thought he was a female until I realized he was not!
So should I assume the one time feeding is enough to get to the fry? The food disappears quickly and sometimes I throw in another pinch, but I don't want to overfeed the adults. Any ideas?
