Female chasing male?

Is it normal for the female to be going after the male? I thought it was the males that went after the female. I got another Bolivian ram, and I'm pretty sure I have a male and female, one of the ram's bellies is rounder than the other ram's, and it's the one with the rounder belly that's chasing the one with the flatter belly... Or is this just normal behavior for one to chase the other. The one that I think is female (the one with the rounder belly) is the one I got first, the male (the one with the flatter belly) is the one I just got today.

I don't know about those particular fish, but I know once my female has had enough of my males shenanigans she chases him around a bit until he gets the point.
