Fish: pregnant???

Question.... can a fish lose it’s pregnancy?

I have a very beautiful Lyretail Swordtail who seemed to be holding fry for a couple of weeks. I bought her a breeding box and was fully prepared to take care of her babies when the tank got Ich.

It was pretty chaotic for a week or so in the tank as I started to treat the tank, moved some vulnerable fish out and such.

I was wondering if the stress or the Ich could have made her lose her pregnancy. Is this possible?

I know that guppies can abort their pregnancy under too much stress, or they can hold their babies for weeks. Perhaps its the same for swordtails? I would put her somewhere safe and keep her there and look for signs of labor a couple times a day. Don’t make any major changes to her environment.
