Ive moved on from gups also. Still have a few males, but i let my colony die off. Im burried in angels tho and expecting cray babies in a few weeks!!!

I'm just gonna let nature do it's thing! Angles would be really cool to breed! Is it hard?

It was cool to have my daughter see the babies and everything. It even helped her understand my wife being pregnant and her having a baby sister soon. I might get another female guppy just to keep a few around for my daughter but I want a little more challenge. Might be getting a tiger barb here in the next month so I might give a try at them.

Yeah it was good to start with!

Angels arent so much hard as labor intensive, and VERY prolific breeders... i have 2 batches of babies right now, the oldest being 5 weeks old and the youngest are 2 weeks. About 12 older ones as it was my pairs first spawn so very small, the second spawn started as 250 plus fry and im now at about 200 as im not exactly following standard practice. My way only allows the strongest fry 2 survive leaving less culling needed and better quality fry. My pair are also getting ready 2 spawn again soon, and i will be desteoying this spawn as i wont have room for the babies so ill have 2 destroy a few spawns before i can let another one live...

Some pics... the parents(the male is the big veil), my older fry, and some of my younger fry... not all the little fry are visible in the pic, only about half...

My pearlscales spawned Thursday and today the eggs are gone. I can't figure out if the parents are eating the eggs or if the snails are eating them.

Probably the parents... it can take a few tries for them to get it right. I got lucky in some ways and unlucky in others. My pair figured it out first shot, but only a small percent of the eggs were fertilized because it was such a fast pairing. Like i put her in with him and less then 12 hours later i had eggs and wigglers 3 days later. I had to learn alot fast for that first batch, but im glad it was a small one. The second batch is a piece of cake!!! Uve been in the angel thread right??? Bob and andy could give you pointers on hatching the eggs urself.

So my fry are almost 3 months old now.My problem with the algae has calmed down now that I changed how much light hey were getting every day.Anxiously waiting for the summer to end so that I can give my friend his tetras back and add the guppies to main tank .

My sunset platy FINALLY dropped her fry. Feels like she was pregnant forever. Anyway, there were 8 that made it in the community tank before I moved the platies to the new tank.

3 days old. So cute!
