Is my molly pregnant?

Do any of these look "boxy" to you?

Some of the pics are hard to make out, but none of them look boxed off to me. I will say this, my platies do not always get a boxed off look to them before delivery. Even when they do, sometimes it's more than a week away. Maybe mine are just strange! Lol

That might explain why my platy is hiding a lot, but doesn't really look boxed yet...

The red platy kinda has the boxy look could be the pic though same with the puppy. What you will notice is that the belly will go from being very round to looking pretty flat at the bottom like in the pics i showed you. And keep an eye put for the white tube aswell if you see all of that than you can assume she's pretty close :). If the Molly is still swimming around very fast and pretty much all over the place she probably isn't ready yet. Another thing i notice with mollies they will appear very pregnant but may not even have their babies this has happened to me so many times. I don't really know why they do this maybe they abort them frequently not sure Ive heard many others with the same problem.

And here are some more of the guppy. They are both still swimming around, but the guppy is more active. The orange one kind of moves slowly or stays in one place most of the time. I can see the white tube on all of them. More so on the orange one than the guppies, and I can see it even more on the platy, although she doesn't really appear to have that boxy shape to me. I attached more photos of my guppies. Do ANY of them look ready or just about ready to you? I really don't want to miss the fry...

Its hard to say just from a photo but they do look pretty close if you want to be sure you get the fry you can always set up a 10 or 5 gallon tank and put the most pregnant looking fish in it that way they are not confined to a small space like a breeder box would do.

I might do that with my next paycheck! :p I am saving up for rabbits so I have limited spending money... But yeah, that might be a good idea. I could try to persuade my sister to get a small tank and let her keep some of the fry when they are bigger... lol. I don't know.

BTW, the Dalmatian Molly had her fry. I didn't have her in the breeder though, so I couldn't save them. She had them in the night I guess because I looked in the tank in the morning and she looked really skinny compared to before. :( oh well. Still got 7 more batches to try and save!

You can always try to stir the gravel up with your net and scoop up any fry that swims out. And you can always buy a used aquarium for pretty cheap there are usually people giving away small ones for free

I can't find any fry in the gravel... They probably all got eaten. :(

she looks pregnant to me because of the big black spot above her bottom fin.

Notice any difference?
