Is my platy pregnant?

It is really big, has a dark spot where a gravid spot would be and is not eating.

wont be more than 1 wk max i'd say... is that your only female? ive got 2 in my tank with a male (thanks lfs...), second brood still has 5 alive, 3 looking like they'll make it for sure. are you using a breeding net or anything? i didnt bother, free food for the others if they want it. if you are using a breeding net i'd think about moving her in there in the next few days....

My females always breathe heavily When its there first drop but is it like she is gasping for breathe? She really shouldn't be lossing her color though. Is she in a breeding trap?
