Is it common for tropheus to swallow the eggs they are holding?? The reason I'm asking this is because yesterday I watched my female tropheus mate with a male and the eggs she was holding seem to have disappeared. I am wondering if maybe she has swallowed the eggs because it is her first time holding, any advise would be greatly appreciated!

Alrighty! How long do you think it will take them to get the jist if breeding??

Well that really depends on how young/size, but they will figure it out pretty fast. Then it will start getting a little obnoxious lol. Otherwise usually by the second time. If it becomes a ritual for her to do that then you can always take them after the male does his thing. It is called strip and there are good articles on that if you do a Google search for it.
