I've heard that if the water is in decent condition, in the mid to low 70s F, and there's plenty of food then the MTS will reproduce.

How true is this? I know it's easy enough to look up but I have a follow up question. If I manage to breed them how long does it take the babies' shells to harden? I want to feed them to my F8 puffer but usually adult shells are too hard for that kind of fish.
