If anyone has experience with Neons then perhaps you might be able to answer this. My Neons, everyone once in a while, will head down deep into my plants in the back (all 16 of them), where you cant see them and just chill out for no apparent reason. Is this some kind of mating orgy? I cant find much out about Neons breeding behaviors and Ive never had any fry since im sure the shrimp will eat the eggs (if being laid), as they troll the leaves all day long. Lots of snails too.

I have neon tetras as well and what I have heard is that the males will chase the females and then the male will choose a spot in the plants. After he has picked his spot he will bring the female over there and mate. So I think this is not a mating behavior

my neon do the same have not seen any eggs to many bottom feeders in that tank

I already posted a wierd behavior like this on the discussion section.
I have cardinal tetra's, but they are almost the same.
Mine chase eachother, sometimes I think they're fighting :D
Breeding them is, as far as I heard, not possible (chance is very small.)
