Philippine blue zebra and gold marble angelfish spawn log
This is our young pair. They paired off after spending some time in a growout tank together with 5 other young angels. Once we realized they had paired, we moved the other angels to the 120 with the festivums and clown loaches. They had one previous unsuccessful spawn, but they seem to be getting the hang of things this time. You can see the male go back for another fertilization pass in the video. He's been at it several times today. What a nice surprise!
BTW, please forgive the ridonkulous amount of BBA in the tank. It gets frequent water changes, but not-so-frequent attention to the BBA issue. LOL. If it makes you feel any better, we don't sell any plants out of this tank.

Thanks siva, we are definitely excited!
In case anyone is interested, I forgot to mention that the tank is a 46 gallon bowfront. Stocking is just the angel pair and 2 small SAE's. They're helping with the BBA.

No clue. Angel genetics confuse the heck outta me. We know the genetics of the Pb zebra, but we need to get in touch with the guy that bred the female to figure out hers.

I thought that they had eaten the eggs a couple of days ago, but this afternoon I was doing a water change and they were attacking me, acting extra aggressive... I looked a little harder and it turns out that they had moved the eggs and neither of us caught it. They are now guarding wigglers with a vengeance. I managed to get a quick smartphone video while I had the Python in there.

Just a quick update... the wigglers look like they will be going free swimming soon. We've got to figure out where we're going to put them when we pull them. LOL.

LOL. We will have to figure out something asap. I don't think we have too long to make a decision... and it's a heckuva lot easier to get them outta there BEFORE they go free swimming.

Thank you. We need to contact the person that we got the female from, and try to find out more about her genetics. I am interested to see what we will get as well.

Well, I am a few days let to this party, but I loved the videos. Both angel parents are amazing looking. I am definitely curious to see what the young'uns will look like.

Thanks a bunch, you ninja'd me while I was typing the other post. LOL. He's a very cool and personable fish. We have been growing him out in a group of Pb angels for a while now and out of everyone, he chose the marble to pair with. Cute.

Thank you! They are still young and this is a pretty small spawn. We have a paramecium culture going for their first food, and then we will start feeding them live BBS. Hopefully the paramecia and friends are ready by the time we have free swimmers.

They went free swimming today. HN1 pulled out as many as he could catch and they have been moved to their own container until they grow large enough to go into a tank.

Awesome! What sort of container do you put them in? Just curious.
