Does anyone know how to tell the difference between guppy fry and platy fry? A lot of fry look so similar.

I found 3 fry in my tank about 4 weeks ago and just assumed they were from my guppies. I pulled them out and put them in my small fry tank but lost 2 overnight. I have noticed the remaining baby is still quite small, bright orange, and seems to be more compact with a shortish tail, whereas guppy fry look like a pair of eyes with a long tail attached.

I will post pics when I get home from work tonight so you can look and tell me if you think it's a platy baby.

Thanks! :fish1:

Ok, so here's a couple of pics of my "platy" fry. She moves around a lot so it was hard to get a pic of her. None of my guppy fry showed their colors like this when they were first born. I have guppies that are several months old and are still colorless.

So what do y'all think? Platy or guppy?
