Platys ... Shimmering???

Have 5 Platies 2 males 3 females ( yea I know bad count one male died and a female turned into a male) and I have noticed one of the males dancing with the other male they would put thier head back and stream out thier fins as far as they would go then they would fight

First it was a dominance thing but now te more dominant male is dancing with the females and the females dance back! Is this a mating thig?

It could be but I know my African cichlids do it. My platys don't shimmer make sure it isn't a disease or anything. I'm just wondering what it might be.

The fish are perfectly healthy
I think it's just a mating thing
