i just got a pregnant balloon molly and male from my local pet store and yesterday he was "biting or sniffing" her gravid spot and i put him in a breeder net and today i gave him a second chance and he tried mating with her could this mean she is due or are males always like this how many babies could she have help!!!!!

Howdy Brookie, welcome to Aquarium Advice.
If you have just one male and one female, that poor female is going to be constantly harassed by the male, whether or not she is pregnant. The healthiest ratio for livebearers is 3 females to 1 male.
She will look huge when she is ready to pop, you can't miss it! She will also start hiding and hanging out at gravel level. I think mollies can have 10-35 fry at a time, depending on their maturity and how many times they've given birth already.
I myself have 10 molly fry right now...it's quite fun to watch them grow!
