pregnant?

I got this female swordtail last week, do you think she's pregnant?? Sorry for bad pics

It's possible but from the pics I don't think she is.

She just seems to be getting fatter is all and her belly has gotten lighter?

It is very possible she is prgnate but it is hard to tell from the pictures.

Update: Somethings definately going on, I took these (hopefully better) pics this morning. She's got to be either pregnant or ill??

If you can see a dark patch behind the light part of her belly, then she is pregnant.

Yeah she has a dark patch behind her belly. Any idea how long it takes for a swordtail to give birth?

It takes about a month for baby platies to be born, so probably the same.

It will probably also take a further 2 months after that to get them to an uneatable-by-parents size.

Well answers that question, I've now got at least 6 swordtail fry (that I've spotted so far)
