Pregnant or fat?

I have had these two Platys for just over a month ....... They have looked like this for a long time now. Are they just fat or possibly pregnant?

Not sure about the red one but the other definitely is.

Hmmm, the dark one has looked pregnant for a very long time ...... When should I expect fry? How will I know she's ready?

Platys can hold babies for months. I removed a male from my tank almost two months ago (got tired of all the babies from the three females) and they are still dropping them. I read somewhere they can hold fertilized eggs up to four months. Your red one is probably pregnant, too, just not as far along.

Black one is the red one is most likely not
