I've an Apistogramma Agassizii that has spawned. She is keeping guard in the spawning cave which is in one corner of my 70 litre tank. Is it safe for me to remove other ornaments from the tank in order to clean the substrate whilst I do a water change? My nitrate levels are about 40 ppm and I would usually do a 20% water change today. Also, what will happen when the fry hatch? Do I need to try and find some food that is not wafer or will the fry eat the same food as the mother?
