Question Three Platies 2:1

I have been thinking about getting three platies for my 5g tank. I know that platies love to breed and I don't want to interfere with that. That brings me to a stocking question. - Do I get two females and one male? or do I get two males and one female?

2 females to one male,
Limit the males you put in the tank as they will fight

A five gallon tank is to small for platy's to breed in I'd just get three females.
