I have 2 male platy ( 1 green lantern, 1 sunburst wag) and 6 female ( 2 gold crescent, 1 panda, 1 red wag, and 2 sunburst wag). My hope is they will breed and make all sorts of cool colored babies. I'm wondering is this possible? The green lanterns seem to have paired up and the sunburst wags seem to have done the same leaving the golds and panda and red to themselves. Is this normal or will they breed?

Hello JM...

The Platys will cross breed. I have Red Wag and Sunset hybrids. The hybrid colors aren't quite a bright as the originals, but still nice. Give them pure water conditions, and they'll thrive in a larger tank.
