This looks a bit like what you encounter with fish with TB. Or due to bad breeding i wonder what happened here that's too bad

Its from breeding... im going 2 cull all with the upturned head, except the one that also has the tail defect, and im gonna breed her 2 her brother that has the same tail deformity just cause... my males are getting some great colors tho!!

Ok... got some pics of my 2 most colored up boys!!! The more orange one will prob be culled or live with the betta as im focusing on blues and greens, but he is still beautiful!!

What do you mean?? I cull according 2 desired color and unwanted defects... as for getting rid of the unwanted fish, i have Phish for that...

Thanx!!! She is my baby girl and the reason i got into fish keeping... i got her when she was about two inches, she is now 10+ and about 2 yrs old... 22 months ish...

So if it weren't for your Oscar, what is the best way to dispose of undesirables? Obviously flushing live fish is a horrible method, I'm just curious of the various ways of culling

Go 2 the unhealthy fish forum and read the article on euthenasia...or give them 2 friends!!

I've used clove oil for euthenizing fish. It's probably the most humane method of doing it that I've found.

See if you can give them to the LFS as feeder fish maybe?

Hey that's not a bad idea, especially while trying to improve the strain since they fulfill a vital need while being discarded.

Thats why i feed mine 2 my Oscar, or my sis in laws... that way we arent feeding possibly diseased fish 2 our other fish, and i get rid of unwanted fry...

Just got a shipment of 12 pairs of assorted fancy guppies. Got a few nice looking lyre tails and a beautiful double sword tail. Now I just need to decide on which ones I want to breed. Still wish I could have gotten my hands on some feeder guppies tho.

Its easier 2 breed from fancies anyways... from wild you have 2 find not only the best colors, but also the nest tails/finnage and breed for it...

Not 2 mention female feeders are all silver with slightly iridescent fins occasionally, so getting the females 2 show color 2 is harder... ill literally have 2 catch all my fish once thay are all mature enough, and go through and decide who i want paired with who... as it is ill soon have 2 seperate males and females 2 prevent unwanted crosses...
