I have a forty gallon tank home to four platys and two swordtails. I have three female platys and one female swordtail. I recently discovered that all four females are pregnant. And now that one of the females (not sure which) has delivered her first batch of fry, the two males will not stop fighting. They never bothered each other before and my other tanks are being used for fry. I don't want them to hurt each other. Any suggestions?

I don't know why the males would be fighting now and not before. In my experience they chase eachother, that is not fighting. My best guess is the harmones released by the female that produced fry. Try a 25-40% water change and see if it helps.

I lost all my fry =[ but the males have calmed down. I will definitely try that next time! Thanks for the reply.
