Why does there have to be adult dating ads at the top of this forum? I am alowed to do some web surfing at work, but today a co-worker, out loud commented on the women in the ads. I know adult sites pay, but this should be a family and work safe message board.

if it was the banner ad under the header, those ads are often chosen based on other sites visited on the computer https://choice.microsoft.com/. if your the only one who uses that computer, it may have misinterpreted your history, in which case if you can opt out of personalized ads on the link above (adchoices, the name is in the upper right hand corner of the banner ad)

LOL, not quite tailored to this computer. It is a work computer and my back sits to the door so ANYONE that walks in sees what I am looking at. Craigslist, eBay, amazon and aquarium sites are all I dare to look at. I have only seen it once, and it just has to happen when someone walks by.

The issue has been reported to the help desk. They will check and see if anything can be done.

If it happens again if you can pm one of the staff members with a screenshot of the banner or the address it links to, sometimes it is possible to ban particular ads from appearing on the site.

I get it as well. And I'm not surfing porn or dating sites in my office so it can't be pulling the ideas from there.

Doesn't bug me, as no one sees my computer but me, but it did catch my attention when half naked ladies popped up above a planted tank thread.

I get the same banner ad on this forum, both on my home and my work computers. I 've never been to a dating site nor searched for anything remotely like that on any computer.

I do go to craiglist, but only to look for aquariums, not for hook ups! I wonder if the banner ads are based on visiting craigslist though...

I get these ads on my work comp as well. I'd second the craigslist idea as I go there looking for a deal on a new tank. Just got done deleting my history last week, so it is either coming off of craigslist, this site, or the company home page.

It is very helpful if you can tell us who the ad was for and have a URL.

You can PM the information to me.

This is the ad I've been getting.

I'm not clicking on the ad to see where it goes and getting a virus or god knows what. I just right clicked and saved the URL of the link and this is what I got.

I've been getting the exact same one.... Boss doesn't mind some surfing, especially during lunch, but this one's definitely NOT cool.

I've been getting that same ad and I think it really is out of place on this site. I have never gone to dating sites or anything like that. Like the rest of you I regularly check craigslist for tanks and equipment so it could be coming from there.

Same ad that I've gotten too, and it only pops up on this forum. Hopefully there is a way to block it, as I'm not likely to stop looking on Craigslist for my next tank(s).

Removal from the ad network can take a few days but this has been reported.
