Im still pretty new to the AA site here and was wondering if its ever been brought up to have a Cichlid forum and a
ca
/sa cichlid forum or sub forum. maybe its just me, but I have zero interest in the Africans and have to wade through a lot of threads sometimes to find something and I know many other fish forums have them split. anyway, just wondering.

It's been brought up a few times and I feel it's not needed at this time, there simply is not enough traffic in the cichlid section. Other larger forums such MFK need the separation since they're getting a thousand threads a day in those subforums, not separating would have new threads on page three before they may get a response. I also don't have much care for old world cichlids any longer but they're the new trend, simply because their size and color.

Yeah, I feel your pain about sifting through the garbage (e.g., old worlds) to find some gems. As Hukit said, there is not enough interest in SA/
CA
's to warrant a full section.
This social group is actually intended to serve as a place to fill that gap and have more focused discussions on SA/
CA
's in place of a subforum.

Yea, figured it had been brought up before. Ive been on MFK for 4-5 years now, and there is a ton of info there, but this site can be a lot more friendly. will have to start contributing more in the group then.

So what fish are you interested in? From your profile picture, it looks like mostly oscars.

I wish there was a way to access this social group through the phone app. I primarily use my iphone or ipad and unless I'm missing something, there is no way to get here.

I hate the apps for my iphone/ iPad, I always just use a safari browser.

I use the app, and then have this send notifications to my email, so that i can click the link in the email and it brings me right to our page, has worked well for me, especially now that this group is becoming more active again

The only main benefit of the app i've seen is that it lets you upload pictures directly from your phone and the safari version of the website makes you upload and then pull from the IMG repository. I do like the table view of the app as well.
