Ok so as its been VERY Quiet on here recently I thought if update my current status.Tomorrow my Vieja,Grammodes and Cuban are being sold to make way for my next Project "Beani"
I have 8 x 2" fish arriving in a couple of weeks. They are from Don Conkel and are going in my 180.So that leaves me with Festae in the 150,Lyonsi in the 90 and Beani in the 180 all species only tanks with Silver Dollars for target fish. The 90 will be upgraded to at least a 150 in the near future.
I've been after Beani for some time now so when the opertunists arose I grabbed it.They will be fed exclusively on NLS so as to avoid Bloat which I know young Beani are susceptible to.Im also aware these fish have very high conspecific aggression.Ideally I want a breeding pair but if I only end up with one adult male then so be it.
Thought,advice and opinions welcome.

I went into my beani project with the same intention and it did not turn out well at all. Slowly but surely the dominate male killed off all the other fish except what I thought was going to be his mate and them suddenly passed away. I'm left with one beani which I think is a female but it is so mean that it cannot be housed with anything at all. She is currently in my growout pond in the backyard. I paid a lot for the group of 6 and have one sole fish left to show for it. I hope you make out better than I did.

It's costing me $135 for a group of 8 and I really hope I can get a pair.If I can get them to sexable size I will use a divider to try and breed them with. This is the first time I've seen them available anywhere in the UK so if I could breed them I could probably fund a new tank project easily.Excited about these guys but a bit concerned about wether ill ever get them to Adulthood.Cbourg what else is in the pond with the remaining Beani?

A festae, and really can't remember what else. It's 300 gallons so hopefully they are all ok. Haven't came across any dead bodies yet.

Well it's done.Vieja are all gone.Moved the Lyonsi into the 90 and the 180 has 6 Silver Dollars and 3 Bengal Loaches in it.I now await the Beani.Really looking forward to this challenge

The Lyonsi are doing great.Very active little fellows and growing steadily. Not shy at all which is great.Funny one of the smaller fish seems to be the Tank boss and chases the others around but it's only chasing there is no damage to any of the fish.I think it may be a different case with the Beani!!
