Thank you cmor I went with just one, the pet store said I can come in within a week and get the free one if my first one dies. So far so good though.

I have another question for you though. We have been having a problem with green hair algae. We have a blenny and a turbo snail but they dont seem to be doing that great at keeping it under control. We have tried other ways as well to control it such as pulling it off by hand, not overfeeding, chemical levels, etc. I have read about getting a sea hare, but I wasnt sure if therre was a specific type to get. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi cmor- I was just in a chat, and a couple users gave me your username. They said you would be able to give me better advice on perculas then they could. I have had 2 true perculas for about a year. One recently died and I was hoping to get another one. I found a petstore that is having a deal; buy one get one free. I was wondering if I buy 2 young true perculas if this would be to much of a risk or if I should just buy 1. Thanks.

Did you ever try the netting to cover your tank from Industrial Netting. If so, how did it work? Thanks, Dennis

Ye[, that's the rub. The 1w have no lens to the spread is 120 degrees. The 3w can be 40, 60, 80 with a lens so you get more of a MH look of spots.

I haven't taken down my MH to replace it with the LED because I'm nit sure if I want to just box them up and wait a few more weeks.

I'm beginning to think I'll just stay with these. I need to get more info before I can make a final decision, like are the Cree's easily replaceable if they go out...

    Thanks

I don't know a whole lot about them, but does the unit with the 54 3w LED's have different optics? Not sure how much difference it would even make, but I would think if the 120 LED unit has 60° optics, maybe you would want 80° optics on the 54 LED unit to fill in for the bank spots. I've seen, in person, the difference the optics make on DIY units. They really do act like small spotlights, but I really don't know if it would make any difference on a full size unit.
