Overall it's been working out better than expected and at least as well as the 2 T5s that were on it before. I would only consider getting the 20w light if you are already using pressurized
CO2 or you can raise it above the tank to a controllable height. It definitely puts out a LOT of light energy. If you are looking to go with medium light 2 10w floodlights should be all you need. Keep in mind that using these lights is a little experimental. It's hard to say what combination of fixtures is just right for any given tank. I decided to try them out because, even with two floodlights, it was cheaper than buying a new set of T5 light bulbs. Also, because I have the lights in an enclosed hood I mounted a
PC fan to keep them cool and prolong their life.
