Hi Librarygirl,
I just tried to respond to you from my iphone and when I was almost finished, it kicked me off.
So, anyway, my husband euthanized Angelina (the 8 year old Jurupari) the night of my email to you. I put some water in a bag and filled with ice cubes and put it in the freezer until it was super cold, took the ice cubes out of the water and my husband put her in the bag of ice water and he said there was one jerk and then she was completely still. Then he put her in the freezer. I think that was the easiest way; she was struggling so and a fish saw her weakness and picked on her so I had to end it. She was such a cool fish and would hang in the tank and stare across at me when I sat on the couch. The tank conditions were perfect; I think she was just old. I miss her.
I hope your friend you took to the hospital is okay.
take care,
Ann
how do you vac your tank with all those plants? or do you even vac them when you water change...I tried using live plants, but the fish kept uprooting them, Id go to bed with everything looking great, wake up and all the plants are floating..lol I really like having real plants though.
Minor update. It took a long time for the seeded filters to show up. Not the fault of AngelsPlus, the post office damaged it in the mail and they had to reship, plus I ordered right before Thanksgiving.
Just got the filter put in the tank. Do I have this thing set up right? I threaded the tubing down into the plastic piece to almost 1/2" from end of the plastic tube. Then I inserted the plastic tube 1" into the filter media. The bubles are not coming out the filter media, they are rising up the top and popping out the top. Is that how it's designed to work?
I have to say that in my time of need Librarygirl was there and gave me tremendous advise and help and more advise........ I just want to say thanks for your help...
