red sea fan?

so my buddy gave this coral to me today. According to him it's a red finger gorgoian but, i'm pretty sure it's a RSF. Can someone help me?

looks like a pretty unhappy gorgonian to me. Gorgonians and sea fans sre pretty much different names for the same thing

yep it does look unhappy. Pretty sure thats why he gave it to me. He gave it to me like that but, in hopes of trying to recover it i'm going to keep it. .

btw the red finger gorgonian has white polyps from what I can tell and the red sea fan is just plain jaine red.
