Should i be cutting the runners?

So I've got a micro sword carpet coming along nicely in my 10 gallon. I was wondering if I should be clipping the runners to encourage more/faster growth? Any advice would be appreciated! :)

Taking the babies off will make the mother grow more, cause all of its nutrients are going to those baby plants

So if I keep clipping the runners it will carpet the tank faster? It seems kind of obvious too me but I just want to make sure it's worth going through all the effort. I've spread out several pots, small portions every inch or so apart. It's growing fast but was just curious if it would make a big difference.
