What can I put in my 29G biocube?

Big Tex 02-26-2014 12:49 PM

fish only or a reef? and whats your scape like? post some pics it will help to make better suggestions, the general stock for a 29g is usually a pair of clowns, maybe firefish, gobies, dottybacks, blennys, just generally smaller fish, here check these out,

I have live rock in there right now I'm not home I'll put a picture when I'm home...I wanna have some coral and some clownfish

woody390 02-26-2014 05:56 PM

Firefish are cool as are 6 lox wrasse and pyjama and Bangi cardinals

ilikefish_ 02-26-2014 06:15 PM

Could I put a flame angle in my 29 gallon tank?

bribo12 02-26-2014 06:17 PM

No to small.

woody390 02-26-2014 06:18 PM

Plus flame angle wouldn't be good idea with coral

Big Tex 02-26-2014 06:26 PM

i had a flame in my 56gbf and in there he looked huge, so no from me too.

Okay Attachment 224941 here's my tank it's going through its cycle right now

Congrats on your new tank! From a biocube owner I would advise you to move the rock from against the glass, it will make cleaning it sooo much easier. :-)
I agree with the above posts as far as fish, a couple small ones would be perfect for that size tank.

ilikefish_ 02-26-2014 07:52 PM

I was thinking like 3/4 clownfish is that to much? And if not what else could I put with them?

bribo12 02-26-2014 07:54 PM

Just 2. More than that and they will destroy each other. Gobies, blennies, bassletts, assessors are all good small fish to go with clowns

ilikefish_ 02-26-2014 08:24 PM

Should I do a water change?

BigRedsReefs10 02-26-2014 08:30 PM

Are you done cycling? What are your params?

ilikefish_ 02-26-2014 08:33 PM

I need a saltwater testing kit I have a freshwater one and I don't think that works for saltwater and I think my cycling is starting to stop

BigRedsReefs10 02-26-2014 08:50 PM

The api kit? If so the ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate tests are the same for fw and sw. Do your first wc when the cycle is complete

ilikefish_ 02-26-2014 09:18 PM

My ammonia-.25
Nitrite-1.0
Nitrate-between 40/80

ilikefish_ 02-26-2014 09:25 PM

And it's coming down cause a couple days ago it was off the charts

BigRedsReefs10 02-26-2014 10:00 PM

Let the first 2 come all the way to 0 then you can do a big wc to lower the nitrates

ilikefish_ 02-26-2014 10:05 PM

Okay after the nitrates and ammonia and everything is at zero could I add crab and shrimp to eat all the algae the cycle has caused in my tank? And after they eat it all would it be then safe to add some fish?
