A lot of them do actually, if you google it, you'll see.

Brandon D. 04-17-2014 12:38 AM

Ok wasn't sure I've seen juvies but they were always dark blue with heavy black vertical bars

squirrilah fish 04-17-2014 02:23 AM

I'm not sure either, that's just my guess.

Brandon D. 04-17-2014 11:15 AM

I think it's an afra I some sort

squirrilah fish 04-17-2014 12:31 PM

It needs to color up more. But I think we are in agreement it's some type of Psuedotropheus

They are similar, both are Psuedotropheus, but look at the dorsal fin, way different. I still think it's an elongatus.

hsojkrieger 04-17-2014 10:50 PM

yeah they do look identical the only thing throwing me off is all the blue. mine is more purple ish with out the real dark black vertical bars, hopefully he will color up more soon. the previous pic looked very close i can picture mine being more purple as it grows, i really appreciate all of the imput

squirrilah fish 04-17-2014 10:52 PM

One thing with Psuedotropheus, especially that purple color, is it can change often and sudden. I have a Hongi Island that has that same color purple, but also will turn white, and light blue.

hsojkrieger 04-17-2014 10:52 PM

i definantly think its psuedotropheous for sure
