Qs about red tail and red finned sharks.

are they good algae eaters (i mean do they really eat algae and control it?)

are they aggreesive towards other fish? e.g. towards small rosy barbs and corys? can they hurt other fish? (have they got teeth ...)

i would only worry with the tead tail sharks becuase of the corys, but usesually they have like a territory and they need somthing to hide under, but its all depending

i have a rainbow shark, it is dark almost black with red fins and a red tail. It is more peaceful than a redtail shark. No, they don't really eat algea, i mean, they pick at the bottom and scavange, and they like to hide in caves.

thats not a problem, my shark and my cories all huddle in the same cave together.. even when i put in another cave, they still wind up all squished together in the same one! I think my rainbow shark likes the corys because he's never bothered them, the only one he ever used to bother was a male dwarf gourami i had, but had to give it away because my shark picked an ulcer into him! but they are usually only aggressive towards other sharks. I think my gourami and shark just had gotten into a territorial issue.

I'd worry about the red tail shark, not so much the red finned one. Red fin sharks aren't known for their aggression as much as red tailed ones, are, from what I've seen.

the read tail sharks stay smaller than the "Red finned" or rainbow shark (same thing really) But i like the rainbow sharks better, they are more peacful and more attractive i think. There are also red tail loaches that look alot like rainbow sharks, but i don't know anything about them either.

I also prefer the rainbow sharks. Red tail ones don't seem that cool looking.
