It just depends o how many you want. In a 10 gallon I think I have a couple hundred. And I always ship a few extra just in case. I haven't had anyone lose any yet. Shipping is 2-3 days.

They get to be about 1 1/2 inches full grown. I have a 30 gallon with fish and the shrimp, the trick is the java moss covers the bottom of the tank to give the shrimp refuge from the fish.

Also, when it starts getting colder I can ship with a heat pack.

Sometimes you can find canister filters on craigslist for dirt cheap. I got a couple off of there in like new condition for less than the cost of a HOB. Worth a look at least.
