+1 on fish trap for catching them. A pop bottle with the neck cut off and stuck in the other way works great with some food for bait.

You cannot use straight tap water. You must put declorenator in the water to remove cholrine and other chemicals, that the treatment plant puts in. Those chemicals will kill fish if not removed....

The plants in the second picture looks more like jungle valsanaria than saggetaria. Val is also known to melt alot more than saggetaria.

I agree some small tetras would be nice add some corydora catfish to fill the bottom and it would be a good stocking.
