off brand canister filters

Has anyone used the off brand canisters on ebay? For ex.. Odyssea. It looks like Ehiem but obviously isn't.
Also what about Pennplax Cascade? They seem nice for the price.

My tank is a cube so it all gets the current but having it at one side does help. My plants are artificial so no worries there. Thanks everyone.
