Recently I just bought a Bolivian ram and he seems to be active. I decided that I would get another in hopes to socialize him early. Does anyone know if my ram is male or female and if he looks healthy.

Just make sure your certain of that fish when your buying it especially when buying shoals. A few suggestions are a dwarf cichlids tank with rams, kribensis, or apistogrammas. You could also do maybe 2 or 3 angelfish and add in some small rainbowfish. Good luck:)

you could probley get away with a small group of otocinclus. Most non schooling algae eaters get too big for a 10 gallon. Oto's are like dwarf plecos and can be lots of fun in the right conditions.:)

Dwarf Gourami can bring quite a bite for their small size, literally. Another option are honey gourami. They look similar to sunrise gourami if I am right about what your petshop meant. My aquarium has been running for about 5 months now and I haven't really had a problem here is a test strip that I used.

Yeah i was useing the testing strip and the color didn't really look quite like anything on the guide. I will probably get a liquid ph tester. I tested my tap and the same thing came back just softer. I also tested water that came right from our well and the same thing. Maybe it was the strip.

After checking my water useing a testing strip it came back as this Nitrates-0 Hardness-75(Soft) total alkalinity-a little over 180 PH-8.4 The water that i will be useing for water changes is very soft. I use tap water
