I had a fish rot problem too and melafix healed them so quickly... It says on the bottle to dose for three days when adding new fish... It doesn't change the water color and is made from tea tree oil... I'm not an expert but I trust melafix with my fish... It's helped me so many times

That's what I figured... I was trying to go for fish that don't need schools like tetras... I love the neons but we were hoping for a tank with variety... If we get four guppies and a school of tetras what else can I really put in there?

I was thinking about some male guppies... I was wondering if they're are any fish that are ok just being single with the guppies... I know gouramis are but it's a joint tank and my sister isn't too keen on them... What about a red tail shark? Is the tank too small for that?

I'm looking to stock my 14 gal... (restarted cycle for reasons lol) I have a silver dollar who will temporarily reside there until my dad sets up his big tank and a very territorial glo fish... He nips at anything new except for my snail and the silver dollar (they're in a 2.5 gal right now...

They are a little bit pricey in comparison but they're great people... Just taken over by new ownership so they're trying to get the tanks back to a decent state bc they were terrible a month ago.. I see the improvement and I trust them whioe heartedly

Ive looked every where but I talked to my lfs about it and they gave me a product they use at the store and at home called ammonium-chloride (must use a de-chlorinater with it) 1 drop per gallon supplies 1ppm ammonia... I'm going to try it but if I used the ammonia with surfactant do I have to...

It's been about a week and it's stop and shop brand clear ammonia... It has surfactants and foams wildly when shaken... I don't know where else to go to get ammonia though... There aren't many ace hardwares around that I can take a bus to... Idk I guess we'll see
