How big is your tank?
That pleco has gotta be at least 5", looks to be a common which will reach over TWO FEET in length. Either humanely euthanize it or take it back to the store.
How many giant danio's do you have in there? They get particularly large...
+1 PNWaquarist. Cories don't school together with different species so, find one you really like and get a bunch of those. Make sure the tank is fully cycled before you add anything to the tank. Once you think your good add a bit of ammonia, if it goes away in a couple days your good, if not...
No. A 205 on a 75 gallon and a couple sponge filters in an overstocked tank is wayyy to little. Biologically if you go this route I think you'd be fine but when it comes to cleaning stuff out of the water column you'd be seriously lacking.
In other words you want the tank to have about a 10x...
Get:
6 Angels or however many you want
Then, one large shoal of schooling fish. Like:
20 Rummy nose tetra
20 Cardinal tetra
20 Harlequin Rasbora
15 Black Neon
15 Cherry Barb
15 Pristella Tetra
then
A big group of cories for the bottom.
Would look awesome!
Looks to be either Java fern or Bolbitis, either way you just pluck the plantlets off that have roots with your fingers and shove it in the substrate. Their fairly slow growers so, don't expect them to be huge in a couple of weeks.
Forgot to mention, I have a moderately high pH of 7.6 -7.8 (not certain on the exact number). So a large portion of tetras and barbs wouldn't be ideal in my tank, besides the super hardy types.
I'm actually really interested in a bottom feeder type fish. I already have two groups of fish that...
Dension barbs are sweet, I know a friend that had a big group. It was a spectacular display. They get 4"-5" so I'd probably count those out. I'll definitely like to try them out in the future. When I get a 6 footer.
Hillstream loaches, hmm. To the google I go!
I don't blame you for not...
I currently have a 75 gallon setup, using two canister filters (aquatop cf500 and eheim 2215) outputs placed at either end of the tank. The flow is pretty high along the surface and mellows out towards the bottom and has a few slow spots where they can relax.
Currently its stocked with 5 dwarf...
Thanks for the help. I respect the honesty, no sugar coating things.
I'm super devoted into this hobby, and I really only started this thread to get a plan for when the time does come. Ultimately I knew what would have to happen. I was just trying to get some outside opinions rather than just...
I was hoping I'd find out a way to not get this answer. But being realistic here it's the best thing to do.
I appreciate all the feedback on this thread, but I can't ignore the obvious.
If you were in my situation would you sell everything or store it?
WHOA this thread got a lot of replies.
So the gist of my original post was to figure out maintenance wise, what would take the least amount of time looking at it. So my family can basically ignore it. If I do leave a tank for them to look over it will likely be either a plant heavy shrimp...
Hello all.
I currently have a 75 gallon planted. Housing about 40 or so RCS a few amano shrimp. 6 dwarf neon rainbows and 11 espei rasboras. It's pretty lightly stocked considering its a 75.
I'll give you a little information about myself. I'm a high school senior this year and will be going...
Rainbows, hatchets and butterfly fish are all cool fish, but if your looking for something that's unique I'd look into halfbeaks. They hug the surface and look spectacular in a group.
I'm not sure which species is more readily avialable either Celebes or Wrestling Halfbeaks. So you may have to...
