Hi there. Just curious if anyone who has a FugeRay Planted+ 12" can tell me if the mounts can be adjusted for an 8" across tank. I know that the FugeRay 10" can be, but I'm unsure about the Planted+. Also, has anyone used either the Planted+ or the Fugeray? How do they compare to other lights...

It's also good to note that scuds will likely eat juvenile shrimp if you have them and will likely go 'overboard' eating dead plant matter by continuing into healthy plant matter. They will also strip some plants completely, like moss.

You probably know them better as 'scuds'.

Aren't crystal shrimp a bit less hardy than cherry shrimp? I have seen a lot of mixed information on RCS; while everyone agrees that GH must be above 4, some people say they breed like mad in acidic water, some in hard... they seem to be a very variable species.

What qualifies as "low-tech"? I have jars that are being lit by plant lights (I have no good windows for them) and have airstones only for water movement (which isn't strictly necessary).
