It might be a cross with something?? But I had 5 red zebras a few years back, and they looked and acted an awful lot like that yellow fish. I have a lot of yellow labs and they're quite different.
Yes, but you still have a high amount of it, and your fish are continuously producing it.
Edited to add: The goal is for the test to always show an ammonia level of 0.
Vortex diatom filters physically remove parasites like ich from the water. If you combine that with raised temperature to speed up the life cycle, it really really works and gets rid of the infestation before it can do much damage to the fish.
If you have a bad strain of ich that temperature won't kill, look into getting a Vortex diatom filter. I had to buy one last summer thanks to the local Petco and my horrible decision to bring home 3 fish from there.
I have a 50 gallon tank that I put 2 female guppies in a while back, and there are always hundreds of guppies in there now. They have floating plants so a lot of the young can survive. They don't get any special feeding at all. The larger fish in the tank get flake food once a day, and I'd guess...
I can definitely give advice on this, but the first thing I need to know is exactly what the level is in the tank, and what it is in the source water that you are using. I recently discovered a situation in one of my aquariums where 6 terra cotta pots were causing the GH to be very high in a...
Hmmm. I can't say for sure yes or no. I have a pair of german blue rams and have kept them with several other kinds of fish including rummynose tetras and discus, but not angelfish, gouramis, or loaches. I think it would be worth a try, but no guarantees of an issue-free tank. :)
It should be, but make sure that you have a good thermometer and check it often. My favorite thermometer so far is one made by american thermal instruments (sometimes called ATI) that mounts on the outside of the aquarium. Again, found it on Amazon. I plan to buy more of the same for my other...
