    Hy Jessica, I started wit a few tiger barbs as they are very robust. Nothing special though. After that I had a couple of plecos and also added Danios, which are also very longlasting.

    I have done it in the past, plus a few other items. Didn't have any problems at all. As said before, I would suggest that you change a couple of items at a time.
