It was somewhere under 1ppm I think. I will test when I have time. I know the bacteria takes care of it eventually, but id feel better knowing I wasnt putting any extra ammonia in the water.

Recently I tested all the water sources in my house and there is ammonia in all of it, except the filtered water from the fridge. It takes forever to get enough water, and my dad no longer wants me to use it, in risk of damaging the fridge. Do I really have to get a full out water purifying...

If the water parameters are at zero then it is probably a chemical thats killing stuff and making the water cloudy, not bacteria. I think more water changes could help if theres something in the water that shouldnt be there.

Cant go wrong with a Eheim Classic. They are dead silent too.

You could try a local pet store or hardware store.

The main reason I was deciding on getting a premade one vs DIY was because tubing is around $2 here at Ace, so by the time i buy all the tubing id have spent close to buying a new one. But I will look to see if home depot is cheaper. Thanks!

Which is better? Is there any quality issues that would cause you to chose one over the other? Im looking to get a 25' water changer, the Python is $40 on Petco, but the Aqueon is $35. Is there any reason chose the Python over the Aqueon one?

Its a 29 gallon aquarium. It is planted. I was using 48 watt t5HO until the algae started becoming an issue, so I switch to 30 watts cpf and all the other algae stopped growing on the glass. I currently run them 8 hours a day. The driftwood I can remove to treat. I cant take a picture right now...
