- I just started (12/13) a 55 gallon freshwater aquarium with live plants. I have a Fluval 306 cannister filter, and a light panel with two fluorescent light - specifically for plant growth. I semi-slowly (over 7 weeks) established a community tank with the aid of Nutracycle bacteria.
Currently I have: 6 Serpae tetras, 1 Dwf gouramie (had 4, but lost 3 over a three week period- dwf gouramie disease?), 3 cory catfish, 2 clown loach, 7 black pearl Harlequin rasbora and 4 otocinclus.
I siphon the gravel and do a 30% water change weekly.
