    55 gal South American cichlids.

My fish are well taken care of. If you read entire thread, you know I plan to get a bigger tank soon. Remember, advice given in kindness will be well received, but. Know and understand the entire situation.

    55 gal South American cichlids.

They get along about as well as to be expected. Definitely need lots of rocks and fake plants. My Jack dempsy took a beating from one of my convicts. He has a little fin damage he may not recover from. But thats the price you pay for that type aquarium. I have recently sat up a live planted...

    55 gal South American cichlids.

I sat mine up in Feb. Fish are growing fast. Most will get big. The green terror will only get about 6" max. They are quite beautiful. Convicts are cool. But can be quite ferocious. Perticularily if you get a male and a female, a d they spawn. There is a particular catfish that does well with...

    55 gal South American cichlids.

The real pretty one was supposed to be a Texas cichlid. He is a hybrid of some type. The red devil was supposed to be a red Texas cichlid. Clearly he is not. Recommend not buying fish from Petsmart! The hybrid is beautiful and I am happy with him. But I have had a red devil before, and they...

Appreciate the feedback I am getting. At some point I will post all suggested species on a dart board, close my eyes, and throw 2 darts. It will be a hybrid of wherever the darts land.

My 10 gal planted with occupants.

Thanks brennae. I do have lamp brichardi, and bovilian rams in there. I will be moving soon and plan on getting a 100 gal for my South American cichlids, then that 55 will become a planted tank for these guys. This tank will probably become a shrinp tank. Thanks for your thoughts.

Thanks Daniel622. I have learned my lesson about where I purchase my fish. Regarding this particular one, right now I am leaning towards it is a hybrid of some type. I have gotten green terror, midas, and a bunch of I dont have any ideas. It is pretty short bodied and its blue spots are in...

This guy (or gal) was purchased in Feb, and was supposed to be a Texas cichlid. Clearly it is not. I've looked in shops, asked around, still no positive ID. It is a beautiful fish, and I will keep. Seems to be dominant in tank, as there is a red devil in there as well. Surprising to me. (Red...
