i think its better to do an 100% water change anyways, cause in my 29gal i couldn’t get them to drop below 40ppm even with an 85% water change test (you put 15% of tank water in the API tube and 85% source water in the tube, thatll give you an idea of what the outcome will be)
i give it probably 1-2 weeks before completely cycled maybe quicker but i doubt longer. just make sure you keep dosing ammonia! and once the cycle is complete since your nitrates are also maxed out probably id recommend doing a 100% water change the day of or the day before you get fish.
so in my tank it looks like theres millions of micro particles and i thought they were tiny bubbles but im not so sure. theyre so small they dont look like anything, ill try and get a picture but im not sure if ill be able to. im running a aquaclear 20 and a tetra whisper 10i, the tetra is...

this is what i got from the test. (all the same test, just different angles) it looks orangeish to me but the second i cover up the colors on the sheet the yellow (0) completely disappears. (also sorry for the link but its hit...
i didnt know how to describe the temp situation so i just gave a broad range, i apologize. it stays warmer during the day then slowly cools off at night because my heater is messed up and i have to keep an eye on it.
the temp mainly stays from 80-85° i just had it at 75 for awhile until yesterday when i added a heater. i have not heard that about the NO3 readings so i will give that a shot right now. and i know it takes longer, but i would think that i should be building up at least the smallest amount of...
basically after a month of cycling i still have no nitrates or nitrites. i do 25-50% water changes whenever the water gets 1-2ppm of ammonia. yesterday i noticed that even after a 50% water changed theres no ammonia change really. im also doing a fish in cycle with 3 neon tetras in a 10gal tank...
so i discovered something else kinda odd. even after a 50% water change the ammonia didnt go down at all. maybe i should let the water cycle throw the filter n mix a bit more but right after the water change there was no difference
