I have heard that they become monsters as they get older. Mine is about 5 inches long now, so he could get that way soon. He is in a tank with african cichlids so hopefully they will keep him in order :-)
Thanks for the reply, I'm in bangkok so not sure if amazon would deliver here. I will ask around at market about the moss balls though.
Another idea i had was to set up a tank in the sun with a load of stones in and try and grow algae on them.
Thanks again :fish2:
Hi, I have had a golden chinese algae eater in my tank for about 10 days now.
It's eaten all the algae that i let build up for a while and doesn't seem to eat any of the food i try and give it.
I have tried putting cucumber in for him, but he's not interested. He wont seem to eat pellet type...
My tank has a built in filter.
At the moment it just has a sponge pad at top followed by plastic bio balls.
I will add some ceramic bio media.
Should i add this around the pump at the bottom, or in the section with the plastic bio balls but just under them?
Also there is a lot of brown algae...
Also I will be getting some of those white cylinder things (filter medium).
Should they go in the very bottom, around the pump or should they go under the black plastic bio balls in the upper section?
Thanks
Hi, I have a built in corner filter in my tank, the tank is about 2 months old.
Its been growing brown algae on the glass.
Im not sure what i can do about it.
I was hoping it would grow enough so that it looks black and doesn't let light in.
Would this be ok to have permanent brown algae in...
Could be, they all look so similar lol, rose queens seem to have more defined lips tho from the pics i've seen. My pics aren't great so cant really see but my fish doesn't really have lips as such.
Thanks for reply :fish2:
Hi i recently bought what i thought was a blood parrot, but now im wondering if its a red devil or king kong parrot as they have alot of those where i live.
Also can anyone tell me if its ok to have this with african cichlids. So far they've been fine together (the Africans are alot smaller)...
Hiya can anybody tell me what kind of catfish this is?
I just bought it, but i live in Bangkok and it's hard to find out the English names of fish.
Thanks
Thanks for reply.
Yes i think you're right.
I have same setup on 20 gallon and it does sumtimes end up running dry when enough water evaporates.
I'm really happy with the one on 20 gallon, is easy to change media and keeps the tank really clean, think it would be a pretty cheap and easy diy...
