A benifical bacterial bloom is not a bad thing at all, actually a good thing. I wouldn't remove it as it is an extremely important part of the chemistry in your tank. Also it is good for the fish and will go away on it's own in a short amount of time. ~Zac

Here's the picture I'd say it's about 19 inches tall right now. It does sorta look java fernish... On the backs of the leaves, there are small reddish Brown spots, they are shown better in the second picture. Thanks for the help so far. Zac

You can't just tell this person to throw 3 into the tank. What if he gets 3 males by chance? He'll end up with one. If you want to have more then on you can only have one male in the tank.

I bought a plant labeled Mylasian Red from my lfs. I haven't been able to find it online anywhere but it definitely is growing and is aquatic. Any ideas? ~Zac

Most fish dying a painful death are not an overnight or instant thing. So it probably could have been taken care of before he would have died over night. Regardless, it is over and you can't do anything about it. I am,just stating my opinion ~Zac

Water with absolutely nothing in it will obviously not cause algae. That would,make no sense whatsoever. It is the doseing. I would cut it back and see it that helps

Either or, shouldn't make a difference. If you do plant it, be careful not to snap the stem at the bottom as this will just prolong the process

Size of tank. They love snails. Frozen blood worms will also do just fine. Live is even better

This is an absolutely untheical way to do it in my opinion...would you want to go through the pain for freezing to death? And on top of that, a human would pass out after a while and stop feeling. A fish will not pass out due to pain and can actually feel the ice crystals forming on the surface...

Minot positive but if it is bacterial, wouldn't raising the temp most likely increase the reproduction rate of that said bacteria?
